"It's difficult to think of two more public-minded people than Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Josh Groban," Los Angeles Philharmonic Chief Operating Officer Arvind Manocha said in a prepared statement. "Their musical accomplishments are extraordinary and both are strong advocates for music education and cultivating musical talent in others. They truly exemplify the very spirit of what it means to be a Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame inductee."

Established in 2000, the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame "identifies and pays tribute to artists whose unique achievements embody the spirit of the world-renowned Hollywood Bowl," according to a press release. Proceeds from the June 19 event will benefit Music Matters, which organizers describe as "the LA Phil's varied and far-reaching music-education program."
