After 3 consecutive platinum albums featuring his warm, inviting baritone voice interpreting both pop tunes and classical material, a Christmas collection seemed a natural for Josh Groban. However, no one knew the number of fans that would be waiting for a set of holiday songs featuring Josh. 8 weeks out the album Noel is already certified double platinum and has sold over 1.5 million copies with sales figures climbing dramatically each week as Christmas nears.

Noel is the first Christmas album to hit #1 on the Billboard album chart since Kenny G's Miracles 13 years ago. Some music industry experts are now predicting that Noel could become the biggest selling holiday album of all time. This is warm seasonal reassurance for an industry that has had a rather rocky 2007. TV appearances on Oprah Winfrey's "My Favorite Things" edition of her show Oprah have certainly helped boost the sales. Additional TV appearances before Christmas and the Disney Christmas Special on Christmas Day December 25, 2007 could move sales of the album into the 4 million range.
