This Boise family spent time rehearsing to sing with Grammy-winning artist Josh Groban.

A Boise family got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity Wednesday night -- signing with Grammy nominated singer -- Josh Groban.

Groban always asks local singers to perform back-up on his most well-known song -- You Raise Me Up. He came to Nampa as part of his latest concert tour, performing at the Idaho Center Tuesday night.

The group planned to back him up fell through. At the last minute, the Capitol City Children's Chorus stepped in -- just two days before the big show.

A family room turned into a rehearsal spot for half the chorus -- all from one family. This group of ten signers is gearing up for a major performance.

The last minute decision left little time to practice, and little time to calm the excitement after hearing the news on Sunday.

"We were just screaming and couldn't believe it," signer Alix Davies said. "We called up our friends and said 'guess what! we get to sing with Josh Groban.'"

The siblings and cousins run their own rehearsal - taking the lead and instructing each other. Each of them is working toward the same goal: an outstanding backup performance.

The group ranges in age from 10 to 21 years old.

Shawn is the oldest and this will be his second time performing as a backup singer for Josh Groban.

"It's really special to have done it but there's that extra something to be able to do it with your family that is special," Shawn Soelberg said.

A special opportunity Soelberg says this family will never forget.

"There is really no substitute for actually performing and an opportunity like this is a very special experience that they will remember for a long time," he said.

The family spent sometime Tuesday afternoon rehearsing with Groban. The family says Groban offered singing tips and cracked jokes with the family.
