KUALA LUMPUR: Pop-opera crooner Josh Groban, known for his soaring tenor voice, is scheduled to perform in Malaysia for the first time on Oct 18 at the KL Convention Centre for one night only.
The 27-year-old, who released his third album Awake last year, is currently having a series of performances in the United States. Sources said these would be followed by an international tour.
Tickets for the Grammy award nominee’s upcoming show in Malaysia will be available in July.
Known for a string of atmospheric and operatic ballads including To Where You Are, You’re Still You and You Raise Me Up, he was featured in the season finale of the popular TV drama-comedy Ally McBeal, prior to the release of his self-titled debut album in 2001.
His follow-up album, Closer, was released in 2003.
The following year, he released Believe, which was included in the soundtrack album for the popular Christmas holiday animated film, Polar Express.
Groban’s tour in this part of the world will be kicked off by a series of concerts in Australia.
Although performance dates have yet to be determined, pre-sale of the concert tickets in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide have recently been announced on his official website.
