In the crowd at the festival was superstar singer Josh Groban, attending his first Coachella.
"I've been touring pretty consistantly for the past couple years, so I haven't had a chance to make it yet," he said. "But now, to see all these performers live is like a dream come true." Groban said he was most looking forward to seeing Sigor Ros, Imogen Heap, Common, Massive Attack and Madonna. "It's not the kind of music I perform, but I listen to all kinds of music," he said. "I'm sure this will inspire me in my own work."

The Walkmen got a rise out of the crowd when they performed "We've Been Had", which was featured in a Saturn car commercial. Josh Groban did quite the number earlier on, as did the Matisyahu. Though, one of the biggest crowds was reserved for James Blunt, though hardly an indie name. His tracks of "You're Beautiful" and "Back to Bedlam" were widespread crowd pleasers.
