Boy Wonder

Considering he's only 22, Josh Groban has accomplished a lot. Way back in 1999, when he was just 17, he sang in his perfect pitch baritone during California Gov. Gray Davis' inauguration party. A short time later, he was called to rehearse with Celine Dion for the 1999 Grammy Awards show. Rosie O'Donnell was hosting the Grammys and booked Groban for her talk show. She dubbed him “Opera Boy.''
Since then, it's been one success after another. He has two albums filled with classical and contemporary music, was a recurring guest on “Ally McBeal,” and sang at the 2002 Winter Olympic Closing Ceremony. In addition to making the rounds at the morning talk shows and “The Tonight Show,'' he's had his own PBS special.
His version of “Believe,” from “The Polar Express” soundtrack, has just been nominated for an Academy Award for best original song in a motion picture.
Whew! I'm exhausted.
Groban will appear for one show Tuesday night at Mohegan Sun Area. Chris Botti, a virtuoso jazz trumpeter, is the opening act.
Josh Groban will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Arena.
