Opera star JOSH GROBAN is recording a LINKIN PARK song for his new crossover album. The 22-year-old classical pin-up admits he's a fan of the rockers, and has recorded a version of their B-side ballad MY DECEMBER for an upcoming project. The tenor says, "Certain melodies are universal and don't necessarily need to be done rock all the way." We found this Linkin Park song that is really beautiful, and not one of their songs a lot of people know about. We put a full orchestra on it."

Groban, who has recorded with CHARLOTTE CHURCH, and appeared on ALLY McBEAL, has also teamed up with French ambient-techno duo DEEP FOREST for his new project. He adds, "I told them to take my vocal, and do some improvisation." Meanwhile, Groban has become a first-time house buyer in his native Los Angeles - the tenor has bought a penthouse in Beverly Hills for $1 million.
